Accessibility

Our Commitment

Alpine Building Maintenance Inc. (“Alpine”) is committed to creating a workplace and service environment that is inclusive and accessible for employees, clients, and the communities we serve.

We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing process. Our goal is to identify and remove barriers wherever reasonably possible, and ensure people with disabilities are able to participate fully in our workplace and services.

This plan outlines how Alpine will continue to improve accessibility across our organization in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation.

Accessible formats of this plan are available upon request.

How We Support Accessibility

Training and Awareness

Alpine provides accessibility training to employees and supervisors as required under the AODA. This training helps our team understand:

  • How to interact respectfully with individuals with disabilities
  • Our responsibilities under accessibility legislation
  • How to support an inclusive and barrier-free workplace

Training is provided when employees join the organization and when accessibility policies or practices are updated.

Accessible Information and Communication

We are committed to making our communications as accessible as possible. When requested, Alpine will work with individuals to provide information in accessible formats or with communication supports that meet their needs. This may include adapting documents or adjusting communication methods where appropriate.

We also continue to review our website and communications to improve accessibility wherever feasible.

Accessible Employment Practices

Alpine is committed to fair and accessible employment practices. We will:

  • Notify job applicants that accommodations are available during recruitment and selection processes
  • Provide reasonable accommodations when requested during hiring
  • Support employees who require workplace accommodation
  • Provide individualized workplace emergency response information when required
  • Support employees returning to work after disability-related absences where appropriate
  • Consider accessibility needs where relevant in performance management, career development, and redeployment processes

Because Alpine operates in multiple client facilities, accommodation solutions may sometimes require coordination with the requirements of the client site where work is performed.

Workplace Emergency Response

Where we become aware that an employee with a disability may require assistance during a workplace emergency, we will work with the employee to develop individualized workplace emergency response information.

Emergency response plans will be reviewed when:

  • An employee’s work location changes
  • Accommodation needs change
  • Workplace emergency procedures are updated

Continuous Improvement, Feedback & Plan Review

Alpine recognizes that accessibility is an ongoing process and is committed to continually improving accessibility across the organization. We will periodically review our policies, procedures, and workplace practices to identify and address barriers wherever reasonably possible.

We welcome feedback on how we can improve accessibility in our workplace and services. If you have questions about this plan, require information in an accessible format, or would like to provide accessibility feedback, please contact our Health & Safety team at healthandsafety@alpineservices.ca.

This Multi-Year Accessibility Plan will be reviewed and updated at least once every five years in accordance with applicable accessibility legislation.
